People, we have lost our compass. First a nation become bankrupt morally - then in terms of its economy. Sadly, we are seeing the end of an empire.

Solar flare hit earth
There were spectacular displays of the aurora. However, this was a small CME or coronal mass ejection that we saw. Fact is in the past we have faced a CME that was massive.
OK in 1859 we had the Carrington flare which destroyed the telegraph system and affected global navigation as compasses spun endlessly on. Perhaps in 2012 we will have a solar flare or coronal mass ejection that is massive. All our electronics will be fried and we will look at our compass spinning. Debunkers will claim that everything is fine and that I am crazy.
