What does the future look like?

OK many people have seen "Book of Eli", but few understand that plants will grow. Human structures will fall down after we are gone. However, nature will take over. A time traveller from the future would no doubt tell us of radioactive cities with trees and forest all covered up. Well, some day a person will write the history of time machines into an epic saga. The desert wasteland is more a metaphor than a reality about what is coming.

Tsunami coming?

Happy are those who do not know the future and do not see what is coming. There is much bliss in ignorance. Still, I believe that in this century there will be a giant mega tsunami tidal wave. Cumbre Vieja volcano is in the island of La Palma, in the Canary Islands chain near coast of spain. This one volcano is in great danger of collapsing sending a giant tidal wave. Get ready to swim.

Toyota covers up safety problem with the prius. Hybrid cars were selling well in 2008 when oil was near $150/b and there was a push for efficiency in energy. The fall in sales is due to a fall in gas prices. However, now we can see problems with brakes are causing a sales slowdown now.

Little Laptops have a lot to offer core users. They are going to compete with the netbooks by offering more power. These are the mini me. People are now asking for big power at a small price.

Floating hotels?

Well, guess the future really is now. There is talk of floating hotel called aircruise. OK now Al Bielek did speak of floating cities in the future, but this floating hotels is never. That said it would look pretty to see them floating in the air. We would probably need floating stop lights to move.

Industrial base is gone

Folks, the american industrial base is gone. Sadly, our economy needs a jump start to get going. All this DOWNsizing and OUTsourcing had done little to make us better, but instead hollowed out our industrial base here in america.

Let me put it in other words, the gov can cook the book, but people are still out of work. Notice that you neighbor is not driving off to work every morning? Well, soon there will be a foreclose sign up. The gov keeps says that all is fine and that things are getting better, when we know they are getting worse.
