50s time travel movies are fun. People back then had less worries and we see a world with less crime and hard ship. In fact, there were few homeless on the streets and lots of jobs.
USA was an industrial powerhouse that built cars, radios, and even television sets. Sadly, now we DOWNsize and OUTsource every factory. There are few jobs and lots of taxes. Back in the 50's the sales tax in Indiana was 2% and now it is 7%. This gives you an idea of how things are now.
Time travel back to the 1950's would be swell, and very few people from that time would want to go from 1959 to 2009. There are no flying cars or men on mars in our time.
